Award-Winning, Bicycle-Related Play Now at Dobama Theatre

We’re enthusiastic about all things bicycle, so wanted you to know about 4000 Miles, a play showing at Dobama Theatre in Cleveland Heights from Friday, December 7, 2012, though Saturday, January 6, 2013.  It’s the regional premiere for the winner of the 2012 Obie Award for Best New Play.  The play is written by Amy Herzog, directed by Joel Hammer, and features Dorothy Silver, Matt O’Shea, Rachel Lee Kolis and Kat Bi.  After losing his best friend while on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village aparment.  The funny, moving and wonderful drama traces how, over the course of a single month, these two outsiders find their way in today’s world.

Tickets are $10-26.  Thursday 12/6 is a preview at 7:30 p.m.  The play is being performed every Thursday evening thereafter at 7:30 p.m., and every Friday and Saturday evening at 8 p.m.  On Sunday, December 9, you can attend a pay-as-you-can show at 7:30 p.m.  Sundays from December 16 to January 6, are matinees at 2:30 p.m.  There are pre-show talks 45 minutes before the show on 12/7, 12/8, 12/13, 12/16, 12/21, 12/22, 12/27, 12/30, 1/4 and 1/5.  Post-show talk backs are on 12/8 and 12/22.  Dobama Theatre is at the Heights Library, 2340 Lee Road.  Go to dobama.org or call 216-932-3396 for tickets or more information.  Walk-up box office hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12/5-1/5 from 2-4:00 p.m.  Please mention any handicap or special needs at the time of reservation.
